So glad you are back in the saddle. As you know - and as I'm finding out - you just have to take it one step at a time. You are one of the top three reasons I'm training for my first half marathon, and I think about you and your experience every time I put on my running shoes. Keep up the good work, the good fight!

Can I get a Whoop-Whoop. We are running the New Bedford Half in your home state. This is one of the top road races in America. We are lucky. And we are going to be joined by two, maybe three, colleagues of mine who are all Mass natives. And it will be on the weekend of the Irish. Love it. You are doing exactly the right thing. Start at square one. The building will be faster this time - both mentally and physically. I have run once since the NYC Marathon. We are all dusting off the running shoes and stepping out into the cold as the first races of the spring are upon us. But this spring will be different from last. You are a veteran now. Go runner.

Kevin,
My sister came across your article in the New York times while doing research for a paper she was writing for class. She was writing a paper on the impact that fund raising (and research) has had on CF. And how fund raising really does make a difference. Any ways, I have read your blog about running in the NY marathon. How crazy cool! I just (2weeks ago) ran my first half Marathon in Houston. I ran for my son (he's 9) who has CF. I raised money for the CF Foundation through my half Marathon. I never thought I could do a half marathon. It was a crazy cool experience to be able to run the entire distance. All that to say...I just wanted to take the time to thank you. Thank you for being an encouragement and an inspiration for me. You have inspired my sister and myself to train for the Houston full Marathon next year (we're not really runners, so it'll be interesting). Thank you for all that you have done for CF.
Congratulations on your engagement.

Hey Kevin,
I just started reading your blog, and I find I cant stop. I am in a wheelchair, though in high school I was a big disabled swimmer. After about five years of not exercising at all I am finally getting back into you and I hope to use your blog as motivation that I can do it and get back into shape again!

I also have several close connections to CF, and seeing your blog has reminded me that though my boyfriend died from complications due to CF almost two years ago, the fight goes on for so many others and it might be time for me to go back out there and look for something that I can do to help find a cure for this awful and devastating disease. If you do any more fundraising type things Id love to hear about it!

Kevin,

Watched your video, it was very touching. Your fiancee said something that got my attention, miracles do happen, yes they do. Please do yourself a favor, get a book called "Jesus Heals Your Sickness Today." By Guillermo Maldonado. I don't care what your religious affiliation is, it's only 217 pages, it could change your life, it did mine. I believe there is no need to feel that there is looming doom coming in your life and especially the fact that you have a fiancee to share the rest of your life with.
